Product Description
Product Description
Cordyceps sinensis - a species of parasitic fungus, belonging to the family Ophiocordycipitaceae. It occurs naturally in the Tibetan Plateau, in the highest parts of the mountains, at an altitude of approx. 3- 4 thousand meters above sea level. For growth and development, the cordyceps sinensis uses the caterpillars of moths of the genus Thitarodes, usually found several inches underground. The mycelium, obtaining nutrients from the larvae, heads towards the surface of the ground, and then a fruiting body grows from it, which looks like a small clubbell.
Cordyceps is distinguished by its slightly bitter taste and meaty smell, and biotechnological methods using artificial substrates are also increasingly being used to grow it on an industrial scale. The fruiting bodies of cordyceps sinensis are a rich source of biologically active substances - the mushroom contains, among other things, nucleotides, amino acids and polysaccharides, which make cordyceps
